i'm on a diet
Some nights are just eat-oreos-in-bed nights. There's no denying it. And it's okay because the oreos are reduced fat, and the milk is 2%. Why is 2% okay, you ask? Because, my friends, we drink whole milk in these parts. Whole milk, right from the cow, from a farm in Newbury. Local and no processing. That's just how we roll. Except for last night. Last night was reduced fat oreos and 2% milk. Practically a diet, right there. I feel thinner and less healthy already.
Does the whole milk that is real fresh taste really different? That is great that you get such good quality milk! We have cousins that have an organic dairy farm. It's the horizon milk that you see at the grocery!
ReplyDeleteI think it does taste different. Because it's not processed at all- the guy who sells it to us literally just milks the cows and puts it in cartons- you have to shake it before you pour it, and its got a significant richness to it. It kinda coats your mouth in a really tasty and smooth way.
ReplyDeleteAnd your cousins own horizon? No way! That's great! :)
We've given up cow's milk (sad) BUT I swear that farm-fresh eggs (our friend has chickens) do taste SO much better than those bought in the store. I think the yolk is brighter, too. Just sayin'. :)
ReplyDeleteFarm-fresh eggs are totally better. We have 2 chickens- their names are Beef and Pony, and I should totally do a post on them. And the yolk IS brighter, you're spot on!
ReplyDeleteAlso- I've been reading up on how goat's milk is [potentially] way better for us than cow's. Do you go that route, or the soy/rice route? Or do you just say nay to milk in general?
