#13

Jake has made a habit of resting his head on my belly and talking to the baby. As if on cue, the baby's movement goes through the roof- Jake's deep, resonant voice must already be a familiar one. This weekend Jake talked about his family and the baby listened receptively, tapping occasionally on his cheek. Then Jake asked for just one more kick and within seconds he'd received a wallop to the face. We are convinced the baby has a good sense of humor.

One of my earliest memories is hearing my Grandma Loraine read me the book Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. It remains my favorite children's book. So, before bed last night the baby and I had our own little time together and I crossed #13 off the list- our first bedtime story.
