Ulf Ekberg was born on this day in 1970. What a name, huh? I wonder if his mother knew he'd one day sing a song that adolescent girls across the world would tape off the radio. My brother literally taped 'I Saw The Sign' off the radio for me. I would listen to it on my tape player, rewind and play it again. Over and over. I'd say I listened to it on repeat, but that button didn't exist on my tape player.
PS: The tape player was white and purple. I put Rug Rats stickers on it. I was so hip. I totally saw that sign.
love that song! i went to france in high school...and the family i stayed w/ had a teenage daughter. one day she and her boyfriend and i were driving and that song came on. the language barrier was hil.a.ri.ous! what they thought the words were...so were not. anyhoo...that's what i always think of w/ i hear that song. :)
ReplyDelete1. You went to France in high school? That's such an awesome opportunity!
Delete2. Language barriers = never-ending hilarity. Anytime I've spent abroad has always been chock full of them too. I remember being in Ukraine and saying- who knows why- "belly button," which was apparently the same combination of sounds as a particularly offensive 4 letter word. Oops!
Thanks for the comment Hilary!
