This happened this weekend. We woke up on Saturday to a winter wonderland outside- snow rounded out the corners of homes and cars, clung to tree limbs and nestled about sidewalks. We went on a walk through the woods, and Dallas may have literally flown at points.
Of course, it was all gone by lunch time but at least my snow boots got one good use this winter. I needed the time for more than the use of the boots though. I was so revived by the fresh, cool air and the boundless joy of our funny dog. Jake and I daydreamed about how to spend our first wedding anniversary in a few months, and we held hands. The exercise felt good. The time was precious.
Then yesterday happened. And it looked like this:
And THAT was a whole different kind of rejuvenating. Warm sun, and warm sand. Sweet little blossoms of purple and yellow and blue popping up all over the ground. At the beach Dallas made friends with a bulldog name "Froofy." The dogs chased each other, entertaining the elderly women sunbathing in their bathing suits.
What a funny, random winter this has been.
