My niece turned 4 on Monday. FOUR. That's one year shy of 5, one year shy of a half-decade, one year shy of kindergarden! It's a big deal. She's a big deal.
I love watching my family love her- my mom making belgian waffles for her birthday breakfast, my brother buying her fairy wings. I adore watching- and hearing- my husband playing and laughing with her. I love her precious little "sure" in response to questions, and how beautifully bashful she is with crowds of even her dearest people. Watching her soak in our booming rendition of "Happy Birthday" on Monday night was absolutely lovely. I can't wait to see all that this little girl becomes. She's already such a spit-fire.
My sister and brother-in-law are doing lots of things right with their little ones. Katie El is clear evidence of that, through and through.
