take to the skies

In just a matter of weeks, my dear love of a husband will celebrate a big birthday. He'll be leaving his twenties behind and entering a whole new decade of life. Its exciting and I plan to am making a big deal of it. Due to the inevitable weather craziness that is pre-winter New England, his big birthday surprise gift had to come early, so the celebration began this weekend.

Jake had no idea what Sunday evening had in store, and I've been working for months at keeping my mouth shut and my inbox a secret. As we neared Moultonborough, NH I finally spilled the plan- a scenic sunset flight in a tiny cessna 210. He was giddy. He couldn't believe it. I was so proud of myself.
We look photoshopped in, but we're not. I swear.
We love New England in the Fall. LOVE IT. We eat cider donuts and pumpkin muffins.
I've been hankering to mull up a storm. We love Fall. We love, most of all-things-Fall,
the foliage. And now we've even seen it from above.
As if it could have been a more exciting birthday present-
the pilot let Jake FLY THE PLANE...and make his wife a little queasy.
Happy Almost-Birthday my love.
No, we are not going to talk about investing in a plane now.
I think we have to wait a couple more decades for that.

  1. I still can't believe our husbands were born on the same day! How is yours doing with turning the big 3-0? Mike is kind of indifferent. He doesn't even want to celebrate! Good thing he doesn't have a choice. :)
