dear baby // week 32

Hi baby,

Your dad giggles almost every day over how big you're getting- at how big my belly has gotten with you, really. People can see you move from across the room now and we can't walk through a store without you receiving lots of attention. Even strangers are excited about you kiddo. Every person I meet likes to make a prediction of if you're a boy or a girl and what your exact birthday will be. We're excited to find out too, but we aren't making any predictions. I just want you to be happy and healthy.

Your room is ready for you. I love sitting in there, imagining how much different it'll be when you're here and that space is yours. Babah and Papa bought your beautiful crib. It is pretty incredible to picture you sleeping in it while I glide back and forth in our wooden rocking chair.

We had an appointment with the midwife this morning. Sitting in the waiting area there was a mom and dad with their three-day old baby. The daddy was holding the baby, cooing at him the whole time, so stinkin' proud of his son. I can't wait to see your daddy holding you, calming you and looking at your face in awe. The midwife said you're strong and cozy in there and she could feel your head and your little butt. Listening to your heartbeat is one of my favorite things in the world. We also made our appointments for the rest of the pregnancy- all the way through to your due date- and the receptionist said she hoped she'd be erasing the last one because you'd already be here. (!!)

We've still got time though little one- time to be connected and grow together. I've got more stretching to do and your daddy has more projects to finish. So, for now, keep cozy and keep growing and I'll keep daydreaming about you while sitting in your room, with you kicking my ribs.

Love, mom
