In preparing for my job transition, I've been thinking about all the "little things" I do. I've been making lists of the ones worth passing on to my successor, and trying to articulate why they're the ones that are important, the ones that instigate change and further a mission of good work.
Its both encouraging and overwhelming, all this thought of the little things. There are so many of them. It reminds me of walking through the woods- I can gallop along, taking in the big scenes and scents, and then all of the sudden pause and become enraptured with the scours of tiny worlds beneath my feet. Mushrooms and moss, my favorite little princess pines, puddles in the bellies of leaves. Its so, so much to take in.
So, here's to committing to the little things, but keeping our eyes on the big. For the sake of sanity, that's my goal. Happy Tuesday.
